Botpress is an open-source conversational AI development stack or, in their own words, “the building blocks for building chatbots”.

In order to increase downloads and enterprise demos, they wanted their visibility in search results to match their leading position in the market.

It’s a crowded space. Not only do they compete with heavyweights like Google and Microsoft, but with dozens of other chatbot makers of various quality.

The Strategy

First, we conducted a technical audit of their website to ensure it was not only easy to navigate for their target audience, software developers, but that its pages were easy for Google to crawl, understand, and index.

The next step was keyword research so as to understand the myriad ways that developers search for chatbot platforms.

Knowing this, we were able to identify gaps in the developer’s journey and drive a content roadmap to remediate gaps.

We undertook regular content audits and provided specific recommendations on content to be created, expanded, split, combined, redirected or pruned.

We got our hands dirty. Not only by optimizing previously-published pages (we reviewed and edited nearly every blog post), but by writing new pages too.
